‘Track Child’: A web portal by Women and Child Development Ministry
The Union Women and Child Development Ministry unveiled a portal Track Child to function as a central database of all those children who have gone missing in different parts of the country.
The portal will aid coordination b/w child homes, police departments and state governments.
The details of the missing child after filing FIR will be put on the portal. The ministry will coordinate with police heads, social welfare departments of various states and other agencies to establish this mechanism. The ministry is also considering a proposal to set up a National Institute of Women Affairs, which will provide as a think tank for women-related matters.
