Migrant Protection Protocols

Migrant Protection Protocol or MPP is a program under the immigration policy of the previous US government. This program, which was initiated in 2019, sent certain immigrants arriving at the southwest border of the USA back into Mexico under the Immigration and Nationality Act. This program was responsible for sending back 65,000 migrants to Mexico to await their court hearings. The new administration has started dismantling this hardline program.
