Ayodhya: PM lays foundation stone for a temple at Ram Janmabhoomi site

To mark the laying of the foundation stone for a temple at Ayodhya’s Ram Janmabhoomi site, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 5, 2020 unveiled the plaque of the temple and a commemorative postage stamp on ‘Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir’.  Bhumi Poojan ceremony was performed from 12:30 to 12: 45.

Atal Innovation Mission declares results of ATL Tinkering Marathon 2019

Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog declared the results of its flagship national annual innovation Marathon challenge ATL Tinkering Marathon 2019 held over 5000+ Atal Tinkering Labs across the country and announced 150 winners of the Marathon. This year, the challenge was executed by AIM in partnership with MyGOV on MyGov’s Innovate Platform.

Chhattisgarh’s Godhan Nyay Yojana: Cow dung procured at Rs. 2/kg

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated the process of payment against cow dung procurement to the bank accounts of beneficiaries under the state government’s Godhan Nyay Yojana on August 5, 2020. Cow dung is being procured by the govt. from cattle owners at Rs 2 per kg. The dung so procured is utilised for preparing vermicompost fertiliser.

India has contributed $15.46 million to the India-UN Development Partnership Fund, underscoring the country’s commitment to supporting developing nations in their developmental priorities across all the Sustainable Development Goals. India’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador T S Tirumurti handed over a cheque of $15.46 million to the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) Director Jorge Chediek on August 4, 2020.

Lebanon: 100 killed in a blast in port warehouses in capital Beirut

A huge blast in port warehouses storing highly explosive material in Lebanon’s capital Beirut killed 100 people on August 4, 2020. Prime Minister Hassan Diab said there would be accountability for the deadly blast at the “dangerous warehouse”.
