UV BLASTER

• DRDO develops an Ultra Violet (UV) Disinfection Tower for rapid and chemical free disinfection of high infection prone areas
• The equipment named UV blaster is a UV based area sanitiser
• It has been designed and developed by Laser Science & Technology Centre (LASTEC), Delhi-based laboratory of DRDO, with the help of M/s New Age Instruments and Materials Private Ltd, Gurugram

• Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Narendra Singh Tomar launches “The Saras Collection” on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal

• Poynter Institute’s International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) launched a WhatsApp chatbot that has been built to curb spread of misinformation, particularly during COVID-19 pandemic
• By using the IFCN’s bot on WhatsApp, people worldwide can easily check whether a piece of content about COVID-19 has already been rated as false by professional fact-checkers

• Google said it had blocked and removed 2.7 billion ‘bad advertisements’ globally in 2019, and suspended nearly one million advertiser accounts for policy violations as part of its efforts to protect users from misleading ads
