Centre claims 42 crore poor benefited from PMGKY

According to the Central Government, over 42 crore poor people have received financial assistance of around Rs.68,000 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Package. This initiative, launched in March, aims to provide free food grains and cash to women, poor senior citizens and farmers – the most vulnerable to the pandemic.

Minority Affairs Ministry decides to resume Hunar Haat event on October

After a gap of 6 months, the Hunar Haat event is to be restarted from October 9 to 18 at Prayagraj. The theme of the crafts fair would be ‘Local to Global’, with the focus on indigenous Indian toys. The fest enables local artisans and craftsmen to showcase and sell their products.

Union Cabinet approves amendment to 3 labour codes

The amendments to the labour codes on social security, industrial relations and occupational safety (pensions and medical benefits) were approved by the Union Cabinet. These codes will be moved in the upcoming monsoon session of the Parliament.

5 PSUs under Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas to join ISA-CSCA as Corporate Partners

Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced that 5 PSUs under his ministry will be joining International Solar Alliance Coalition for Sustainable Climate Action (ISA-CSCA) as corporate partners. They will be contributing to ISA’s Corpus Fund.

PM Modi to hold Svanidhi Samvaad with street vendors from MP

PM Svanidhi was launched by the Centre on 1st June 2020 to help street vendors affected by the pandemic to resume their livelihood activities. Around 4.7 lakh street vendors in Madhya Pradesh were registered, of which more than 4 lakh vendors were given identification and vendor certification.

In a first in 45 years, shots fired along LAC

Both Indian Army and the Chinese troops blame each other for the recent firing of a few rounds in the air along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh. This is the first instance since 1975 when PLA ambushed an Assam Rifles patrol in Tulung La in Arunachal Pradesh and shot four soldiers dead.

Agriculture Minister inaugurated 22 bamboo clusters in 9 states virtually

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar inaugurated 22 bamboo clusters in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Assam, Nagaland, Tripura, Uttarakhand and Karnataka. A logo for the National Bamboo Mission was also released during this virtual event.
