Essential Qualification
NURSES: (Women)
- Degree or Diploma in Nursing from a Government / Government recognised institution.
- Permanently registered with the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council.
- Training for a period of not less than three years in General Nursing.
- Not less than six months in Midwifery training.
- A foreign training which is considered by the Director of Medical and Rural Health Services to be equivalent or superior to the above training.
NURSES: (MEN)
- Degree or Diploma in Nursing from a Government / Government recognised institution.
- Permanently registered with the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council.
- Training for a period of not less than three years in General Nursing.
- Successful completion of training in Psychiatry for a period of six months after successful completion of training in General Nursing.

Selection Procedure
- Diploma level Examination-200 objective type questions for 100 marks
- There will be no negative mark for the wrong answer.
- Duration: 02.30 hrs
- Maximum Marks: 100
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: 30% (SC/SCA/ST) and 35% for all others.
- The question paper will be set in the English language.

Others: Rs 700

Pay Scale
Consolidated Pay of Rs.14000/- per month, with an annual increment of Rs.500.
