‘Tiger Lake’ unveiled by Intel, also announces ‘DG1’
American Multinational Corporation, Intel has unveiled ‘Tiger Lake’ on Tuesday, 7th January 2020, during the annual and 53rd edition of Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020 at Las Vegas located in the U.S State of Nevada. Tiger Lake is the next generation Central Processing Unit (CPU) built on Intel’s 10 nanometer+(nm+) processor and is driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI) that will replace the 10th generation Ice Lake and Comet Lake processors.
Intel’s senior Vice-President and General Manager of Client Computing Group, Greg Bryant showed off the ‘Tiger Lake’ CPU and a prototype motherboard during the CES 2020. Intel in partnership with MediaTek is also working on 5G support for PCs, samples of which are likely to be available by the end of 2020.
During the CES 2020, Intel also announced its first discrete Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) which is codenamed as ‘DG1’ and will be based on Xe graphics architecture, the same architecture will also power Intel’s ‘Tiger Lake’ processor.
