The Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Thaawarchand Gehlot has recently launched the ‘Mobile App and Facebook Page’ of the National Trust on December 30 to mark the ‘2016 National Trust Foundation Day (NTFD)’ on the theme “Celebrating Inclusion” to create support network for persons with disabilities by sensitizing unreached section of society. The National Trust is a statutory body of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, set up under the “National Trust for the Welfare of Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities” Act (Act 44 of 1999), which was passed in the Parliament on December 30, 1999. Thus, the NTFD is observed every year on December 30 in India to create awareness for the welfare of persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities.
