The 2016 Malabar trilateral naval exercise has started in Japan. The harbor phase of the exercise would be held at Sasebo from June 10 to June 13 and the sea phase in the Pacific Ocean from June 14 to June 17. The exercise is in line with India’s ‘Act East’ policy. In it, the naval ships of United States, India and Japan will participate to advance multi-national maritime relationships and mutual security issues. The exercise will support maritime security in the Indo-Pacific region and benefit the global maritime community.
