TESS discovered its first Earth-size Habitable-Zone Planet
Responsible for civilian space program and aeronautics & aerospace research in United States, the independent agency of the United States Federal Government, NASA: National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s planet hunter-Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TISS) has discovered its first Earth-size Habitable-zone Planet named ‘TOI 700 d’, which is one of the few rarest Earth-size planet discovered in a star’s habitable zone where conditions might be just right for the presence of liquid water on its surface. Other star’s habitable zone planets of Earth’s size were discovered earlier in the TRAPPIST-1 system by NASA’s Kepler Space Telescope.
Scientists have modeled the planet ‘TOI 700 d’ potential environment using NASA’s Spitzer Space Telescope, which will also help in future observations. Space Telescope, TISS was launched by NASA on April 2018 under the Explorer’s program to find Earth-sized planets orbiting nearby stars, this is the first such planet discovered by TISS. Conditions on ‘TOI 700 d’ are exactly not known at the moment, but the scientists are confident that it is a real planet, as initial observations shown no stellar flares and the planet is bright which indicates that its inner and outer planets are rocky with the middle part gaseous.
