Technology Platform called CHAMPIONS launched by PM Modi

On June 1, 2020, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched technology platform called CHAMPIONS. CHAMPIONS Stand for Creation and Harmonious Application of Modern Processes for Increasing the Output and National Strength.

Highlights

The portal aims to make smaller units big by supporting them, encouraging, solving their grievances, helping and handholding. It will act as one-stop shop solution of all entities of the MSME sector.

Objectives of the portal

The portal aims at providing the following

  • Grievance Redressal: The portal will solve the problems of MSME. This mainly involves raw materials, finance, labour, regulatory permissions, etc.
  • The portal will help MSME sector capture new opportunities. This includes manufacturing of accessories, medical equipment, Personal Protection Equipment, masks, etc.
  • It will help encourage and identify sparks. In other words, the portal will help identify national and international champions that are able to withstand the current situation.

About the platform

The platform is a control room-cum management information system. The system is enabled with ICT technology tools. Along with this, the platform also includes telephone, internet, video conference. It is enabled by Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Analytics.

The platform is integrated with other real time platforms such as CPGRAMS and other MSME owned web infrastructures.

The complete platform was created by National Informatics Centre.

Progress So Far

So far, around 66 state level control rooms have been created. The control rooms are connected through video conferences.
