Taj Mahotsav 2020

Cultural troupe from Arunachal Pradesh performed at the Taj Mahotsav 2020 organised in Uttar Pradesh. Arunachal Pradesh and UP are sister states under Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat scheme.

  • Taj Mahotsav:

Taj Mahotsav is a 10 day program conducted every year in Agra in Uttar Pradesh. It is a cultural program that invokes the memories of 18th to 19th century Mughal Era in Uttar Pradesh. It includes showcasing of various art forms and handicrafts from different states.

  • Adi Tribe:

The Adi people are an indigenous tribe of Arunachal Pradesh. They are a populous group who speak the Abor and Lhoba groups of languages of the Sino-Tibetan language family. Some of their noted dances are Ponung (performed by women), Delong (performed by men), Tapu (a war dance), Yakjong (during the Aran festival), etc. The Adi culture was showcased at the Taj Mahotsav 2020.

  • Folk Dances of Arunachal Pradesh:

Some of the noted dances of Arunachal Pradesh are Lion and Peacock dance and Aji Lamu of Monpa tribe, Chalo of Nocte tribe, Hiirii Khaniing of Apatani tribe, Pasi Kongki, Popir and Ponung of Adi tribe, Rekham Pada, Roppi, etc.
