About Swachhgraha
The Swachhagraha campaign is inspired by ‘Satyagraha,’ the world’s largest and most effective mass movement. Developing a sustainable culture of cleanliness is the aim of this campaign. This campaign also looks to promote Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan by encouraging young citizens to participate actively and develop youth leaders.
About Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan
The Swachh Bharat Mission, also known as the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or Clean India Mission, was launched by the Indian government in 2014 to eliminate open defecation and improve solid waste management across the country.
The Swachh Bharat Mission’s first phase lasted through October 2019. The first phase’s objectives included bringing about behavior change and generating awareness regarding sanitation practices, eradication of manual scavenging, and capacity augmentation at the local level.
Between 2020 to 2025, the second phase is being implemented to solidify the work of the first phase. The mission’s second phase aims to improve solid and liquid waste management, sustain the open defecation free status and also aims to improve sanitation workers’ lives.
