Swachh Survekshan report 2020: Indore bagged the award for fourth time in a row
Indore bagged the first prize as the cleanest city in the nation for the fourth year in a row. The Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry released the Swachh Survekshan Report 2020 with the List of winning cities of India.
Key Highlights of the report
Swachh Survekshan sanitation survey was carried out in over 4,000 cities for 28 days.
Indore ranked first in the city list of more than 1 lakh population.
Karad ranked first in the city list of less than 1 lakh population.
Chattisgarh is the cleanest state of India as per the report.
Varanasi topped in the category of “Ganga Towns’ cities.
Delhi ranked first in the list of Cleanest Capital city.
What is the Swachh Survekshan report?
Swachh Survekshan is the annual survey of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation of Indian cities and towns. It is a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, whose objective is to make a clean India. The first such survey was carried out in 2016. Based on the survey, conducted by the Quality Council of India, a report is published.
