Student Health Card Scheme in J&K

The Lt Governor G C Murmu launched the Student Health Card Scheme in J&K to ensure regular heath check-up of the students.

Student Health Card Scheme

The Student Health Card Scheme was launched by the Lt Governor G C Murmu on 5th March 2020 to ensure the health of the school going children in the UT. The scheme provides for regular health check-up of the students. Regular health check-up facilities will be established at school-level and measures are to be taken to create awareness about its benefits to the parents.

Midday Meal Scheme

Midday Meal Scheme is a centrally sponsored scheme launched in 1995 and is implemented under the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development. It provides for hot cooked meals for children (of classes I to VIII) free of cost on all days except school holidays. The Student Health Card Scheme is to compliment the Midday Meal Scheme in J&K.

National Health Mission

The National Health Mission was launched in 2013 and implemented by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Its four components are:

  • National Rural Health Mission
  • National Urban Health Mission
  • Tertiary Care Programmes
  • Human Resources for Health and Medical Education
