Srikanth Srinivasan creates history, gets confirmation to become federal judge to US Circuit Court
Chandigarh born Indian-American Srikanth Srinivasan (46), created history as he has been confirmed to be a judge to the DC Federal Appeals Court Circuit. He will be the first South Asian as well as first Indian-American judge to America’s second highest court.
Srinivasan, who was Obama nominee, received bipartisan confirmation in a 97-0 vote by the Senate. Mr. Srinivasan grew up in Lawrence, Kansas, following his family’s migration to the U.S. in the late 1960s. For his contributions, he received the Attorney General’s Award for Excellence in Furthering US National Security in 2003 and the Office of the Secretary of Defence Award for Excellence in 2005.
