The Asia’s largest annual security forum “Shangri-La Dialogue” has recently opened in Singapore. The territorial disputes in the South China Sea, North Korea’s military provocations and Islamist extremism are expected to dominate discussions in the forum. The Shangri-La Dialogue has been organized by the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies ( IISS). It is to be attended by at least 20 defence ministers and led by Pentagon chief Ashton Carter.
