Shaheed Diwas

Shaheed Diwas or Martyr’s Day is observed on March 23^rd every year to mark the death anniversary of Indian freedom fighter, Bhagat Singh. Bhagat Singh along with two other freedom fighters, Sukhdev Thapar and Shivaram Rajguru were executed on this day, in 1931, by the colonial British rulers for ‘conspiring against the Crown’. He is noted for popularizing the phrase ‘Inquilab Zindabad’. This year marks the 90th death anniversary of Bhagat Singh.
