Shagunotsav
The Central government will undertake a mammoth school census programme called Shagunotsav .
About the Programme
- The programme will assess and grade about 12 lakh government and government-aided schools on various key indicators, including infrastructure and other facilities.
- It is also intended to verify the authenticity of the data provided by the states to the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
- The surveyors will be engaged to conduct the physical inspection of the schools and collect data.
- Trainees and faculty members from the District Institutes of Educational Training (DIET) and faculty members from the State Councils for Educational Research and Training (SCERTs) will be roped in as surveyors.
The government plans to deploy the outcome of the census to help in government initiating appropriate policy intervention.
