Securities Market Code

Security Market Code was proposed by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during the 2021-22 Union Budget. It seeks to streamline all security market laws under one code. The provisions of the SEBI Act, Depositories Act, Security Contracts (Regulation) Act and Government Securities Act will be brought under the Securities Market Code. The announcement is made in a bid to ensure reforms for the formalisation of the security market.
