Scrub Typhus Claims Lives in Odisha’s Bargarh District

Officials in Odisha’s Bargarh district have confirmed at least five deaths due to scrub typhus infections in recent weeks, with four others testing positive for the disease. Two of the deceased were from the Sohela block, while one each was from the Attabira, Bheden, and Barpali blocks in the district. Samples from the region were tested in August and September, with a total of four patients testing positive for scrub typhus. All four patients are reportedly recovering well.
