Scorpius System
The Scorpius is an electronic warfare system developed by Israel. It is the first electronic warfare system in the world to target multiple threats simultaneously.
What is Scorpius System?
- The Scorpius system is based on Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) technology. It can simultaneously scan the surroundings (in 360 degrees of angle) for targets.
- It is capable of targeting ships, missiles, UAVs, radars, communication links and many more.
- It can effectively disrupt the operation of electromagnetic systems. This includes electronic sensors, radar, data communication, navigation.
What are the domains of Scorpius systems?
The Scorpius system is available across multiple domains namely Ground, Naval, Air and Training. The Scorpius – G is a ground-based system that can be quickly deployed by vehicle. It creates an electronic dome of protection above a wide area neutralizing the modern threats. The Scorpius – N is a Navy based system that is deployed to defend ships. This includes threats from unmanned combat aerial vehicles, over the horizon anti – ship cruise missiles and radars. The Scorpius SP is an air-based self-protection pod that disrupts enemy ground based electromagnetic operations. The Scorpius – T is used for training. It was exhibited for the first time at the international air force exercise Blue Flag 2021.
