SBI-IRCTC Credit Card Launched for Railway Users

The Railways and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has launched the SBI-IRCTC Credit Card that is aimed at the rail passengers and offers a bouquet of opportunities to them. It is part of the Atmanirbhar India Mission of the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

This comes as one of the ‘Make in India’ initiatives by the Railways in order to make the national transporter Atmanirbhar in the coming days. The present card has been equipped with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology where the users can expedite their transactions at the POS machines by just tapping instead of swiping it there.

This card is also going to benefit the frequent railway travellers in the country. It offers the rail passengers maximum savings proposition on their travel together with exclusive benefits on retail, dining and entertainment as well as transaction fee waivers.

The cardholders will also receive up to 10% value back of 1st AC, 2nd AC, 3rd AC, Executive Chair Car and AC Chair Car bookings made on the Indian Rail Catering and Tourism Corporation Website (IRCTC). There will be transaction fee waivers up to 1% of the transaction amount, fuel surcharge waiver to the tune of 1% and 4 free accesses to the premium lounges at railway stations in a year.

The cardholders will also receive 350 bonus reward points upon activation of the card with a minimum spending amount. The accumulated reward points can be redeemed against the purchase of train tickets on the IRCTC website, shopping portals, etc.
