“Saiyam” Mobile application launched by Pune Municipal Corporation

On April 21, 2020, Pune Municipal Corporation launched “Saiyam” mobile application. The application has been developed to monitor home quarantine citizens

The Plan

The Pune Municipal Corporation has appointed teams in five different zones. These teams will conduct follow-ups with the home quarantined people on daily basis. Also, the teams are to check on people that have returned from international trips and also those who were discharged from COVID-19 treatment.

The team will also check if there are separate food, clothes, utensils and washrooms provided to the home quarantined person.

Saiyam Application

The Home Quarantined person should download the application, The application has GPS tracking and will help in tracking the home quarantined persons whenever they leave their homes. The City Administration gets alerts on such situations and the local police are informed.

The application uses colour code to monitor the citizens. Red signifies that the person has stayed out for a longer duration, yellow says that the person had made limited movements and green says that he had confined himself to house limits.
