SAANS campaign

The Madhya Pradesh health department has launched the Social Awareness and Action to Neutralise Pneumonia Successfully (SAANS) campaign to reduce the infant deaths caused by pneumonia. This campaign involves the training of the community and primary health centres. Some 4,000 Health and Wellness Centres have been established for this purpose. Training module was also developed by the government in collaboration with Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh and UNICEF to improve health workers’ skills.
