Russia to launch third generation Glonass-K Satellite
Russia recently announced that it is to launch the third generation Glonass-K satellite from the Plesetsk Space Centre in August, 2020. The launch of the satellite was postponed several times.

Glonass-K is a Russian navigation satellite. It is to be launched using Soyuz carrier rocket. The first Glonass-K satellite was launched in 2011 and the second in 2014.
Glonass Constellation of Russia
There are currently 27 satellites in the Glonass constellation of Russia. Of these 23 are operational.
The Glonass navigation helps to locate positions more accurately and quickly. This is more accurate especially in built areas that usually obscure the view to some GPS satellites.
The development of Glonass was begun by the Soviet Union in 1976.
India’s Satellite Constellation
The Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) is a satellite constellation being developed by India. It consists of 9 satellites. The operational name of the constellation is NavIC. NavIC stands for Navigation with Indian Constellation.
