Russia Successfully Conducts Trial for 3D-Printed Aircraft Engine

For the first time, Russia has conducted a successful test flight of a 3D-printed aircraft engine and the production of such engines is scheduled to start from 2021-22. The engines will be built by the Russian Foundation for Advanced Research Projects in the Defense Industry.

The flight tests were conducted at Kazanbash Aviation Center in Tatarstan. In December 2019 also, the organization had reported successful bench tests of small-sized gas turbine aircraft engines constructed using 3D printing technology.
