Russia puts condition to supports Geneva plan
Moving a step closer towards seeking solution of Syria crisis, Russia and Lakhdar Brahimi (the U.N. and Arab League envoy on Syria) supported the Geneva plan. But Russia has agreed to this with a condition.
What condition does Russia put forth?
However, Russia has put forth a condition that the formation of transitional government as proposed in Geneva Plan should be done without removal of current Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. This demand is against what the U.S. wants, which seeks exit of the Syrian president.
The Ambiguity:
There is vagueness over the formation of transition government which would be in place till elections are held. However, it is still unclear whether the Syrian transition would end with elections to Parliament or the Presidency, whose reigns for long have been held by the House of Assad.
