RoDTEP

RoDTEP or Remission of Duties or Taxes on Export Product is a scheme from the Ministry of Commerce to incentivize exports. It was launched to replace the MEIS (Merchandise Exports from India Scheme). The scheme reduced the duties paid on exports and created an automated refund route for getting ITC (Input Tax Credit) for GST. Unlike the MEIS, the RoDTEP is WTO- compliant. Concerns are being raised about low outlays for the scheme in the Union Budget.
