Swachh Bharat Mission
The Swachh Bharat Mission was launched in 2014 in order to create Open Defecation Free India and in the first phase, it was for five years. Now, this has successfully transformed rural sanitation in the country and has also changed the behaviour of around 55 crore people in the country from open defecation to using a toilet. This mission is now in its second phase and the objective in this phase is to take India’s villages from ODF status to the ODF+ status with a strong focus on sustainability.
