RailTel and Electronic Knowledge Network Project

Recently, RailTel Corporation of India Limited has been awarded an order worth Rs. 76.10 Crores by the Bihar State Electronics Development Corporation (BSEDC) to provide high capacity, scalable, and reliable network infrastructure for the Electronic Knowledge Network project.

The Electronic Knowledge Network project aims to revolutionize the use of IT in technical educational institutes in Bihar. The project will cater to the future digital needs of campuses for the next 5 years, providing high-speed internet, campus LAN, Wi-Fi solutions, smart classroom solutions, VoIP solutions, and SD-WAN solutions.

Components of the Awarded Work

RailTel Corporation of India Limited will be responsible for the supply, installation, commissioning, and integration of the campus LAN, Wi-Fi solution, smart classroom solution, VoIP solution, SD-WAN solution, and Internet from 2 different Internet Service Providers (ISPs). The BSEDC will centrally host the Network Management System (NMS) of the Electronic Knowledge Network project.
