Rafael Nadal wins French Open, 2020

On October 11, 2020, Rafarl Nadal won the French Open, 2020 beating Novak Djokovic. This is Nadal’s 20th Grand Slam and 13th French Open title.

Under female category of French Open, 2020, Iga Swiatek won the title. She was the first player from Poland to win a Grand Slam.

Grand Slam

The Grand Slam Tournaments are called the majors. They are the four most important annual tennis events. The four Grand Slams are US Open, French Open, Australian Open and Wimbledon. The French Open is also called Roland Garros and is conducted around late May to early June. Australian Open is held in mid January, Wimbledon in June-July and US-open in August-September.

The Wimbledon is conducted on grass courts, Australian and US open are held in hard courts, French on clay.

The Grand Slam tournaments are conducted by the International Tennis Federation. Neither Association of Tennis Professionals nor Women Tennis Association have their roles in Grand Slam.

He is a Spanish Tennis player. He is ranked number 2 by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). He has won two Olympic medals, 21 ATP Tour 500 titles, 35 ATP Tour Masters 1000 titles. Also, he has won 13 French Open, one Australian open, two Wimbledon, four US open.

He has a stand alone record of the player with most clay court titles. Due to this, he is called “The King of Clay” in the sport of Tennis.

Novak Djokovic

He is a Serbian player and is currently ranked number 1 by the Association of Tennis Professionals. He has won 17 Grand Slams, 14 ATP Tour 500 titles, 36 ATP Tour Masters 1000 Titles. He has held the number one spot for over 289 weeks and thus becomes the second of all players to hold the record.
