Notes:
Union Minister for Labour and Employment Bhupender Yadav released a book titled ‘Role of Labour in India’s Development’.
The Book contains 12 articles written by eminent academicians on the contribution of labour in India’s development journey. It was published by V V Giri National Labour Institute, which is an autonomous training institute under the Ministry of Labour.

Notes:
The Ministry of Civil Aviation has invited applications for the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for drones and drone components that was announced in 2021.
Under the PLI scheme, the incentive for a manufacturer of drones and drone components will be 20 per cent of the “value addition” made by the company during the next three years. The scheme was announced in September 2021.

Madhya Pradesh presented a Rs 2.79 lakh crore budget for 2022-23 in the Assembly. For the first time, the state government presented a ‘child budget’ as part of the annual financial plan.
The budget allotted Rs 57,800 crore for 220 schemes under 17 departments, including education, targeted at children aged under 18.

The 15th Finance Commission recommended grants to be released to the states including grants to rural local bodies (RLBs).
Recently, the government has released ₹1,112.7 crore to Bihar, ₹473.9 crore to Karnataka, and ₹634.6 crore to West Bengal, as per the data released by the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance.

The Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP), Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers released the draft ‘National Medical Devices Policy 2022’.
At present, nearly 80% of the medical devices used in the country are imported. The policy aims to place India as one among the five global manufacturing hubs in terms of value and technology for medical devices.

‘Halari’ is a breed of Donkeys native to the Saurashtra region of Gujarat. The population of the breed is fast declining in the country.
Union Minister Parsottam Rupala will preside over a meeting of Maldharis (or traditional herdsmen) for the conservation of Halari donkeys. An animal fair with the best of Halari donkeys, goats of Kahmi and Bhagri breeds, will also be organised.

The Mumbai Climate Action Plan (MCAP) released recently has laid down a 30-year roadmap for the city to tackle the challenges of climate change.
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) prepared the plan with technical support from the World Resources Institute (WRI), India and the C40 Cities network. The action plan has set short, medium and long-term climate goals aimed towards zero emission of greenhouse gas or a net-zero target for 2050.

‘Meri Policy Mere Haath’ programme has been launched under the Pradhan Mantri Raita Suraksha Fasal Bima Yojana.
It is a door-step drive to deliver Crop Insurance. The State Government in Karnataka had been implementing the Crop Insurance scheme named Karnataka Raitha Suraksha Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.

The International Day of Action for Rivers is marked on 14 March every year to raise awareness about equitable access to clean and flowing water.
This year marks the 25th edition of the International Day of Action for Rivers. The International Rivers Organisation has stated that it will mark the day this year by celebrating “the importance of rivers to biodiversity.”
