The platform helps identify problem areas and launch multilingual surveys. Beneficiary surveys support audit planning and evidence collection. The Union Minister of Commerce & Industry released the 6th edition of the “Logistics Ease Across Different States (LEADS) 2024” report in New Delhi. LEADS 2024 evaluates logistics performance across four pillars: Infrastructure, Services, Operating Environment, and Sustainable Logistics. According to the World Health Organization, 2.2 billion people globally have vision impairments, with nearly half being preventable or unaddressed cases.

Telangana government engaged IIT-Hyderabad experts to study the Polavaram project’s impact on the Godavari River. The Polavaram Project is a multi-purpose irrigation project on the Godavari River in Andhra Pradesh. It aims to address water scarcity, boost agriculture, and generate power. The dam spans 1.2 km, with 48 radial gates and a spillway designed to withstand massive floods. The project aims to develop 4.36 lakh ha of irrigation, generate 960 MW of power, supply water to 28.5 lakh people, and divert 80 TMC water to the Krishna basin.

Researchers in Kochi developed a captive breeding protocol for the endangered black-collared yellow catfish. This species is endemic to the Chalakudy River in Kerala and has unique genetic traits and a greenish-brown mottled appearance. It coexists with the endangered Horabagrus Nigricollaris and is classified as endangered on the IUCN Red List. The breeding program started in 2020, and the first-generation stock was successfully bred. The protocol supports conservation efforts and ensures biodiversity preservation in the Western Ghats.

The method aims to optimize mining processes while controlling vibrations and flyrock. It uses automated machinery, including unmanned drill machines and large-sized dozers. The method is a cost-effective alternative to traditional mining techniques like truck-shovel and dragline methods.
