Notes:
The Angadia system is an old parallel banking system in the country where traders send cash from one state to another through a person called ‘Angadia’.
It is mostly used in the jewellery business in the Mumbai – Surat route as they are two ends of the diamond trade. It is seen in the news as an Angadias shop in Mumbai was looted by a gang of robbers.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) released the ‘National Strategy for Additive Manufacturing’.
As per the strategy, India aims to increase share in global additive manufacturing to 5 per cent within the next three years. It could likely add USD 1 billion to GDP at the time. 3D printing or additive manufacturing uses computer-aided designing to make prototypes or working models of objects.

Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonawal inaugurated Nikarshan Sadan, the Dredging Corporation Museum in Visakhapatnam.
Dredging Corporation of India is celebrating 45 years of rendering service to National Ports. DCI, owned by four major ports, administered under Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways is a specialized maritime unit of Dredging and Land Reclamation.

Pterosaurs were the first flying vertebrates and include the largest flying animals in Earth history.
Recently, a new species has been identified in Scotland named ‘Dearc sgiathanach’. It had a wingspan of 1.6-1.8 metres and lived around 170 million years ago. The species is also the largest Jurassic pterosaur known so far.

The 2nd South Asian Athletic Federation (SAAF) Cross-Country championship and the 56th National Cross Country Athletics Championship will be held in Kohima on March 26.
The tournament will be the first ever international athletics event in Nagaland. More than 600 athletes will participate in the event from all the AFI-affiliated states and UTs of the country and also South Asian countries.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme was launched 24th of February in 2019  to provide income support to all landholding farmer’s families.
Under the Scheme, an amount of Rs 6000 per year is transferred in three equal installments of two thousand rupees directly into the bank accounts of the farmers. Over 1.80 lakh crore rupees have been transferred directly, under PM KISAN scheme.

The World Economic Forum and the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on ‘Sustainable Cities India program’.
It is a jointly designed project, which aims to create an enabling environment for cities to generate decarbonization solutions across energy, transport, and the built environment sectors. They will adapt the WEF’s ‘City Sprint process and Toolbox of Solutions for decarbonization’

OCEANS 2022 is a bi-annual event for global marine researchers, technologists and engineers, which was organised jointly in Chennai by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT). It was held from Feb 21-24, 2022.
It included technical sessions, invited sessions on specialized topics, plenary sessions, outreach and media programmes.

The premier Telecom R&D centre has bagged three awards at 12th Annual Aegis Graham Bell Awards for its indigenously designed and developed innovative Telecom solutions in various categories. The categories are ‘Tech for Social Good, Preventive measures to combat COVID 19, and Innovation in Lockdown Management’

Union Minister for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Narayan Rane inaugurated the ‘MSME Conclave’ at Sindhudurg.
He also announced the establishment of MSME-Technology Centre with an outlay of Rs. 200 Crore, in Sindhudurg.  MSME Conclave for National SC/ST Hub was also inaugurated as a part of the Conclave.
