In 2019, he joined the Costa Rica’s national football team as an assistant to the football team manager, Gustavo Matosas.

Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, Minister of State for Culture participated in the G20 Culture Ministers’ Meeting hosted by Italy. The meeting was held on 30 July, 2021. The main focus of the meeting was on ideas related to the protection of cultural heritage. Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi presented India’s perspective on the topic ” Culture and Creative Sectors as drivers for growth”. She highlighted the significance of culture and creative sectors in providing economic growth and employment. She discussed about One District One Product Scheme of Uttar Pradesh, Tourism circuits, promotion of Yoga and Ayurveda etc.
G20 is an intergovernmental forum which comprises European Union and 19 countries including India.

According to the Ministry of Defence, a hotline was established between Indian Army at Kongra La in North Sikkim and the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) at Khamba Dzong in the Tibet Autonomous Region. It was established on 1 August, 2021. PLA Day is celebrated on August 1 by the People’s Republic of China. It is also known as Army Day.
The hotline was established with a motive of maintaining  peace & tranquility at the borders and nearby areas and build trust and strengthening cordial relations.
India and China have two military hotlines in eastern Ladakh (Chushul and Daulat Beg Oldi). The 12th round of Corps Commander talks was held on July 31, 2021 at Moldo (Chinese side).

Isuru Udana, Sri Lankan Cricketer announced his retirement from International cricket at the age of 33. He will continue playing domestic cricket and will be available for franchise tournaments. He is a left hand bowler. He made his debut in the 2009 T20 World Cup which was held in 2009. He has played 21 One Day Internationals, 35 Twenty 20 Internationals.
International Cricket Council was founded on 15 June 1909. ICC is headquartered in Dubai. Greg Barclay is the current chairman of ICC.

‘Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana’  has been recently launched by Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. Under this scheme, Rs. 3000 will be directly transferred into accounts of children who lost  their parents or the earning member of their family during the Covid-19 pandemic. Free education, ration and health facilities will be provided to them till the age of 21.
State Minister Rekha Arya was also present when this scheme/programme was launched.

India’s largest and most complex warship “INS Vikrant” began its sea trials on August 4, 2021. It is the first indigenous aircraft carrier of India. Its weight is about 40,000 tonne and this is the maiden sea trials of INS Vikrant. It is constructed by the  Cochin Shipyard Limited for the Indian Navy. It was launched in 2013. The meaning of Vikrant is “Courageous”.
The motto of the ship is “Jayema Sam Yudhi Sprdhah”. The meaning of the phrase is “I defeat those who fight against me”. The phrase is taken from the Rigveda.

Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has constructed the highest motorable road in the world at a height of 19,300 ft at Umlingla Pass in the Eastern Ladakh region. This construction has created a record in high-altitude road construction. BRO has constructed a 52-km long tarmac road through Umlingla Pass, bettering the record of a road which is in Bolivia at 18,953 ft. This newly constructed road by BRO will now connect the important towns in Chumar sector of Eastern Ladakh.

The Union Cabinet has given its approval of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Indian Institute of Space science and Technology (IIST) and The Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), for carrying out Research activities and Academic programmes which will involve faculty and students from each institution.

Animal Birth Control (ABC) Centre at Konakkarai in Tamil Nadu has become operational again. It was opened in the year 2018 but it remained idle for several months. Tiruchi Corporation has been made operational now and will engage a private veterinarian for the sterilisation drive.

Maldives style water villas will soon be set up in Lakshadweep in a bid to attract tourists. Praful Khoda Patel, administrator of Lakshadweep, said that the water villas will be set up at a cost of ₹800 crore. These projects are being backed by Niti Aayog and Union home ministry to develop these remote islands. Under this project, world-class facility would be set up in Suheli, Minicoy and Kadmat islands in Lakshadweep. In all, 370 rooms will be offered across the three islands and these villas would be constructed under public-private partnership model.
