Q. Who was the first representative of Delhi Sultanate in Bihar?
Answer: Malik Allaludin Jani
Notes: Iwaz Khalji took over the power in 1208 but was soon dethroned in 1210 by Ali Mardan. After Ali Mardan's death in 1212, Iwaz once again rose to the power and declared himself as an independent ruler in Lakhnauti. He even issued coins and read the Khutbah in his own name.  This annoyed Illtutmish and he marched towards Bihar and Bengal to take control over Bihar and Bengal. Both the armies confronted near Teliagarh in Rajmahal hills, Bihar.  Iwaz army was defeated. Illtutmish then appointed Malik Allaludin Khalji as the first representative of Delhi Sultanate in Bihar in 1225 AD.
