Notes: Sher Shah Suri built the Rohtasgarh Fort. He was the founder of Suri Empire in India. Rohtasgarh Fort is located in Rohtas town in the valley of Son River in Bihar. During the Battle of Kannauj in 1540, Sher Shah Suri defeated the Mughal emperor Humayun and after the defeat, Humayun exiled to Persia. Rohtasgarh Fort was built & designed to block the advances of Mughal emperor Humayun. Rohtasgarh Fort was inscribed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1997 for being an "exceptional example of the Muslim military architecture of Central and South Asia.
