Bengal British India Society was established with the combined efforts of George Thompson along with Dwarkanath Tagore, Chandra Mohan Chatterjee and Parmananda Maitra in 1843. Objective of this organization was to secure the welfare and advancement of all classes in loyalty to the government of the reigning sovereign of the British dominions. In 1851 , both the Landholders' Society and the Bengal British India Society merged into the British Indian Association.
