Promote financial inclusion for SHG women entrepreneurs
India announced the Grameen Credit Score Scheme in the Union Budget 2025 to formalize SHG transactions in the credit system. It aims to boost financial inclusion for women entrepreneurs in Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The scheme will help SHG members build businesses by improving their creditworthiness. It introduces customized credit cards for micro-enterprises with limits up to ₹5 lakh. The digital credit framework will bridge gaps in credit assessment for rural women. Increased credit access will enhance economic stability, enabling women to contribute more to their households and communities.
