The third Schedule contains the Forms of Oaths or Affirmations of Union and State Ministers of India, candidates for election to Parliament and State legislature, members of Parliament and State legislature, judges of Supreme Court and High Court, Comptroller and Auditor General of India.
Article 60 prescribes the Oath or affirmation by the President. It states that the oath of office to the President is administered by the Chief Justice of India and, in his absence, the senior-most judge of the Supreme Court available. Any other person acting as President or discharging the functions of the President also undertakes the similar oath or affirmation.
Article 69 prescribes the Oath and affirmation by the Vice-President. Every Vice-President shall make an Oath or Affirmation on entering upon his office before the President, or some person appointed in that behalf by him.
