The Ligurian Sea, which is located in western Europe, is a part of the Mediterranean Sea. This sea is located between Ligurian Rivera, a narrow coastal strip located in Italy, and Corsica Island, one of the 18 regions of France. Gulf of Genoa forms the northern part and the Tyrrhenian sea forms the eastern part of the Ligurian Sea. This sea houses Pelagos Sanctuary for Mediterranean Marine Mammals. This sea is also listed in the Specially Protected Areas of Mediterranean Importance.
