Puri – Gangasagar Divya Kashi Yatra

Indian Railways is set to launch the Puri–Gangasagar Divya Kashi Yatra to promote religious tourism. This initiative aims to offer a unique opportunity for pilgrims to visit important religious destinations across the country. The tour is being launched under the “Dekho Apna Desh” and “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” Scheme, which promotes domestic tourism in India.

Tour Details and Schedule

The Puri–Gangasagar Divya Kashi Yatra is scheduled to begin its journey from Pune on April 28, 2023, and will last for 9 nights and 10 days. The tour aims to cover important religious destinations in Puri, Kolkata, Gaya, Varanasi, and Prayagraj. It will provide passengers with the opportunity to experience and visit renowned pilgrimage sites and temples. These include the Jagannath temple, Konark Temple, Lingraj Temple situated at Puri, Kali Bari located in Kolkata, Ganga Sagar, Vishnu Pad Temple, and Bodh Gaya in Gaya, Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Ganga Ghat in Varanasi, as well as Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj.

Role of IRCTC

This comprehensive tour is being provided by IRCTC, the specialized division for tourism and hospitality services of Indian Railways. The aim of the tour is to showcase the rich cultural and religious heritage of India to domestic and international tourists. With the inclusion of the Puri–Gangasagar Divya Kashi Yatra, IRCTC aims to further promote religious tourism in the country.
