Project Mausam

Project Mausam is an initiative of the Ministry of Culture to explore archaeologically and historically important sites in the Indian Ocean region. The nodal agency for the project’s implementation is Archaeological Survey of India. Research support is provided by the National Museum and Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts. The sites identified under this project are to be put up as trans-national nominations for UNESCO’s World Heritage List. The project has been extended till March, 2023.
