Prime Minister’s Speech on Independence Day : Main Points
Note: Shri Manmohan Singh is fourth prime Minister to deliver a speech from red fort for the fifth time in a row.

The following are the Main Points of Prime Minister man Mohan Singh’s speech from Red fort on August 15, 2009:
- Prime Minister warned the hoarders and black marketeers
- No need to panic in the face of H1N1 flu. No disruption of daily lives.
- Govt. Will ensure that benefits of development reach all sections of society and all regions and citizens of the country
- Restoring growth rate to 9 percent is the greatest challenge India faces
- Prime Minister appealed to businessmen and industrialists to join in effort to tackle difficult situation and fulfil their social obligations
- Expressed concern over deficiency in the monsoon. We will provide all possible assistance to our farmers to deal with the drought
- Date for repayment of farmers’ bank loans postponed. Additional support given to farmers for payment of interest on short term crop loans
- India has adequate stocks of foodgrain.
- All efforts will be made to control rising prices of foodgrain, pulses and other goods of daily use
- India needs another Green Revolution.
- The goal is four percent annual growth in agriculture; achievable in the next five years.
- Food security law to be enacted soon
- Benefit of ICDS to be extended to every child below the age of six by March 2012
- NREGA programme to be improved to bring in more transparency and accountability
- Right to Education Act has been enacted,Money will not be a constraint.
- Expansion of secondary education.
- Bank loans and scholarships to be provided to the maximum number of students. New scheme to help students from economically weaker sections get educational loans at reduced interest rates; This will benefit about five lakh students in technical and professional courses
- Expansion of National Rural Health Mission to cover every family below the poverty line
- Extra funds allocated for Bharat Nirman
- Accelerated efforts to improve physical infrastructure; construction of 20 km of national highways every day
- Indian Railways have started work on dedicated freight corridors
- Special monitoring of the Road, rail and civil aviation projects being implemented in Jammu and Kashmir and the northeastern states.
- Rajiv Awas Yojna launched to make the country slum free
- India to meet the challenge of climate change through eight national missions
- Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission, aimed at increasing the use of solar energy and making it affordable, will be launched on Nov 14
- India needs a new culture of energy conservation.
- More attention required to programmes for water collection and storage.
- “Save Water” should be one of our national slogans
- Upgradation of Security forces to root out terrorism
- Govt. will extend all help to the state governments to make their police forces more effective.
- Emphasis on removal of causes of social and economic dissatisfaction which give rise to problems like Naxalism
- More Funds for special schemes for development of districts with concentration of minorities
- Bill to prevent communal violence has been introduced in parliament.
- We must eliminate female foeticide.
- Committment to the early passage of the Women’s reservation bill . Govt. working on legislation to provide 50 percent reservation for women in rural and urban local bodies.
- National Female Literacy Mission to be launched. This programme aims to reduce female illiteracy by half in three years
- Govt. accepted recommendations of the committee on ex-servicemen’s pensions accepted to benefit 12 lakh retired soldiers and JCOs
- Emphasis to make the northeastern states equal partners in the country’s progress
- Emphasis to ensure that human rights are respected in Jammu and Kashmir and all its citizens are able to live in peace and dignity in an environment of safety and security
- Need to make government machinery is corruption free as benefits of good programmes will not reach the people.
- Public administration to be more efficient.
- Renewed efforts to decentralize public administration through Panchayati Raji institutions.
- Initiation for a new partnership between civil society and the government so that tax payers’ money is better spent
- Improvement in the Right to Information Act to be improved to make it is more effective and enhance accountability and transparency
- Unique Identification Authority of India set up. First set of identity numbers expected to be available in the next one to one-and-a-half years
- Our higest duty will be Nation building.

you can see a lot of comments on almost all posts. when any of my reader says that there are not words to praise the author , the writer or better say Nandini in this case is praising the work in the entire blog and not this post. I am not hungry of praise and applause Ronak. I am not even hungry for money, God has been kind enough to me. I know what my readers are feeling. The blog targets to an average student whose GK was zero back 6 six months and today this site has given them confidence. There are many people who are following my work from the day one. Just ask them what they feel after 8 months.They are confident. I don't wish to get a prize, I don't require it. Do you know from where I work. I live in a very small town or better say a village in Rajasthan where people don't exactly know what is internet.There are frequent light cuts and these days we get electricity for just 8 hours. Still, just wait for another 3 years and than you will see what this simple and not so goodlooking site can do. I come to my little 10ft by 10ft office to work for my blogs from my house on a Hero Bicycle and dedicate my 5-6 hours daily. Do you think that I wish to get a Nobel prize ? I don't moderate comments unless they are biased and hateful and every body is free to throw bricks or flowers. You too are one of my readers and you are free to express your feelings but please don't discourage other people.
Another thing: any body can start and run such a site. its not a big thing. But just start and within one week you will realise what is the challenge behind running successfully such a site. This is internet . I have to be reliable and lack of reliability is what where a GK blog will come to ground even before it stands up.
My first student was my younger brother. He is Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate now, in Rajasthan. After that at least 15 people are working in different organizations. No body will give me a prize for all this except blessings of my readers..

It's easy to criticise someone or claim that their work will not win them a noble prize. But your efforts are proving to be a great boon for aspirants like us, how we should or can repay them I don't know, but the least someone can do is not undermine them.

I don't think i should give any explanation to you for posting a comment which i wish to post, as it is, my personal dicretion to praise anyone, and you have nothing to do with it. In my opinion, Sir, is worth of Nobel prize for the work which is doing. Sharing knowledge is a noble work. But u might not agree with me.
