President’s Tatrakshak Medal
The President’s Tatrakshak Medal is an Indian Military Decoration. It is awarded to distinguished and selfless services in Indian Coast Guard. It is presented by the President of India. Since 1990, the medal is presented to Indian Armed Forces as well.

In 2021
- The Tatrakshak Medal was presented to the Indian Coast Guard Deputy Commandant Abhishek in October 2021. The medal was presented by the Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh. Abhishek was honoured with the medal for his gallantry of busting a drug racket in 2019. He and his team seized 1.156 tonnes of Ketamine drug inside the sea.
- The President Tatrakshak Medal was presented to the senior most technical officer of Indian Coast Guard Inspector General Dev Raj Sharma.
In 2020
In 2020, the President’s Tatrakshak Medal was presented to IG Dev Raj Sharma and IG Arun Shrivastav. In the same year, the Tatrakshak medal (Gallantry) was presented to DIG Anurag Kaushik, Ravi Kumar, Yaduraj Yadav, Pratap Narayan. The Tatrakshak Medal (meritorious service) was presented to Som Lal and DIG Kailash Negri.
