President Pranab Mukherjee has become the first Indian president to visit Republic of Ghana and Republic of Cote d’Ivoire after both countries established diplomatic relations. In his 3-nation African tour to Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire and Namibia, Mr. Mukherjee visited Ghana on June 12, 2016 and signed 3-pacts on exemption of visa requirement for holders of diplomatic and official passports, for cooperation between the Foreign Service institutes of the two countries and for the establishment of a joint commission to periodically review various aspects of the multi dimensional relationship and in the second leg of his visit starting June 14, he would visit Cote d’Ivoire and then Nambia.
