Pratap Vilas palace

Pratap Vilas Palace is a Gaekwadi heritage structure in Vadodara, Gujarat. It was built by Maharaja Sayajirao III for his son, Lt Col Yuvraj Fatesinghrao Gaekwad in 1908. The architect of the structure was Charles F Stevens. It was named after Pratapsinhrao, the last ruler of Baroda. It has a unique renaissance style and is lined with Italian marble. A copper dome serves as the centrepiece. The palace houses the NAIR (National Academy of Indian Railways). The recent Gujarat High Court judgement made reference to the green cover surrounding the palace.
