Port Health Organisation Module

In a significant move to promote Ease of Doing Business (EODB) in the maritime sector, Sarbananda Sonowal, the Union Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways (MoPSW) and Ayush, launched the Port Health Organisation (PHO) module under Sagar Setu – National Logistics Portal (Marine). This digital initiative aims to create a faster and simpler ecosystem to facilitate seamless operations for citizens, port workers, and various stakeholders in the maritime industry.

Safeguarding Citizens and Port Workers

The PHO module plays a pivotal role in ensuring public health and safety by conducting disease surveillance, health inspection, and quarantine measures. With the ability to track and manage health-related concerns, the PHO seeks to safeguard both citizens and port workers from potential health risks.

Real-time Information and Enhanced Transparency

In April 2023, the mobile app version of NLP-Marine, ‘SAGAR-SETU,’ was introduced, revolutionizing vessel-related information access. The app provides real-time details about vessels, including gate information, container freight stations, and transactions. It also facilitates digital payments for charges associated with import and export clearance processes, promoting efficient and transparent transactions.

Empowering Shipping Agents and Port Authorities

The PHO module enables Shipping Agents, PHOs, Port Authorities, Customs, and other stakeholders to access functionalities of PHO clearance easily and conveniently through an online platform. Through an integrated online process, stakeholders can efficiently collaborate and seek approvals, streamlining various aspects of maritime operations.

Collaboration and Data Mobility

With the PHO module, collaboration between different departments and agencies becomes seamless, enabling quicker approval processes. This module ensures that approvals and monitoring are paperless and transparent, fostering an efficient and accountable maritime ecosystem.

Boosting Maritime Trade

Sagar Setu (National Logistic Portal – Marine) aims to boost maritime trade by enhancing the ease of doing business in the sector. By implementing digital processes and providing real-time vessel information, the portal facilitates smoother operations, expedites transactions, and fosters a more efficient maritime network.
