PM Modi launched National Artificial Insemination Programme

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the National Artificial Insemination Programme at Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. He also launched a country wide workshop in all Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) in all 687 Districts of country on vaccination, disease management, Artificial Insemination and Productivity.

The National Artificial Insemination Programme was launched on sidelines with ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ Programme, 2019 and National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP) at Mathura.

Significance

During the launch of National Artificial Insemination Programme, PM Modi emphasized that to expand the Dairy and farming sector in India, research and better technology are the need of the hour.

Government has also launched Startup Brand Challenge so that these innovations and new technology could come from villages and will work towards farmers’ welfare and employment generation.

Since Animal Husbandry and other allied activities have a greater role to play in increasing farmers’ income therefore investments in Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and bee-keeping will bring in more returns.
